System Security Rogue of the Winweb Security Family

System Security is the second rogue of the Winweb Security Family that replaced the Winweb Security in December of 2008.

SystemSecurity uses the scam scare tactics as the Winweb Security used.  Fake scan results, pop up nag dialog boxes to re-direct to the rogues payment sites to get the infected users to buy the rogue to clean the fake detections the scan results show.

Files and Locations:%COMMON_APPDATA%\ <random numerical folder names>\<ranadom numerical file names> .exe

The System Security rogue can be removed using manually removal methods, however, becasue of blocking apps and potential 3rd party malware also infecting the PC, so we recommend using our Antispyware/Antivirus removal tool, VIPRE Antivirus.

You can download a free trial to remove the System Security rogue from your computer  by clicking on the link below:

If you are unable to download and install our malware removal tool because the rogue has infected your computer and is not allowing you to install the program, you can use our VIPRE Rescue Disc here:

  1. I had a friend who was recently hit by this garbage, and it was quite a pain to remove it and restore the OS files that got mucked up in the process!

Used a combination of VIPRE Rescue and Malwarebytes's anti-spyware tools for the primary cleaning.

Also, even when you think you've got it cleaned, run these tools AGAIN - this one came back a couple of times before we were able to get it gone completely.

Sunbelt - looking forward to your tutorial on using VIPRE Rescue with a separate boot disk; this approach would likely be much preferred...
