PC-Cleaner

PCCleaner is a rogue antispyware that uses false security warnings to frighten people into buying the full version of the software. PCCleaner is nothing more than a scam made to rip-off people.

PC Cleaner is usually manually downloaded or installed without user consent using a downloader. When installed on a PC, PCCleaner will continually display exaggerated reports of security and privacy risks on the computer. Before PCCleaner will fix the false risks is reports, the program requires the user to purchase the commercial version of the software, which is completely useless.

PCCleaner is also a clone of DriveCleaner. So much so, that the developers forgot to remove a reference to DriveCleaner in the PC Cleaner scan summary screen. This reference can be seen in the image below.

VIPRE can remove PC Cleaner easily and with the free trial.
