VirusBlast

VirusBlast is a rogue program that pretends to scan for spyware and malware on the user's machine.

VirusBlast may be downloaded and installed silently without user consent, typically by other malware. The accompanying malware may display fake warnings that the computer is infected in order to scare the user into purchasing the program. VirusBlast is promoted on websites that promote other rogue security programs. VirusBlast hooks Internet Explorer and causes Internet Explorer to delay opening for two to three minutes.
