Security Essentials 2010 is a rogue security program, or a fake. Security Essentials 2010 is a complete scam, designed to trick people into thinking it is a legit antivirus program.


Once Security Essentials 2010 infects a PC it will continually harass the user with system warnings and alerts stating the PC is unprotected, under attack or infected in hopes people will fall for the scam and buy the program. Security Essentials 2010 will also run system scans and report numerous infections, which are all fake, again with hopes people will fall for the scam, believe the scan reports are true and buy the software to remove the supposed infections.

If your PC is infected with Security Essentials 2010, you should remove it immediately. Security Essentials 2010 will also hijack the web browser, prevent other programs from opening making the PC near useless.
