Pest-Patrol makes it's way from computer to computer with the use of Trojans usually lurk in porn and warez websites and disguise themselves as video codecs. Once installed on a computer the Trojan floods the user with popups and fake system notifications, saying their PC has been infected with non-existent threats and must therefore purchase an anti-spyware program to dispose of the threat. The first such program suggested is Pest-Patrol, which is completely and useless.
